The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is India’s premier central recruiting agency. It is responsible for appointments to and examinations for All India services and group A & group B of Central services. The Commission is headquartered at Dholpur House, in New Delhi and functions through its own secretariat.
UPSC has invited online applications from unmarried male and female candidates for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy (NDA) for the 156th Course, and for the 118th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 1st July, 2026. This examination is a gateway for candidates aspiring to join the Indian Armed Forces as commissioned officers after successful completion of their training.

Pay Level
- During Training (Fixed Stipend): Rs. 56,100/- per month (Starting pay in Level 10).
- Post Commissioning (Pay as per Rank):
- Lieutenant (Army) / Sub-Lieutenant (Navy) / Flying Officer (Air Force): Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500)
- Military Service Pay (MSP): Rs. 15,500/- per month (fixed) will be admissible to officers from the rank of Lt to Brig.
- Other allowances and promotions as per service rules.

Note on Qualification:
- Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.
- Candidates appearing in the 11th class exam are not eligible.
