🎓 Qualification

The eligibility criteria for the post of Assistant Professor are as follows:

  • A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
  • Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

  • The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

A relaxation of 5% shall be allowed at the Bachelor’s as well as at the Master’s level for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-creamy Layer)/Differently-abled.

📋 Detailed Application Procedure

The ‘Online Application’ will be completed in four stages:

1. First Stage:
   • Click on ‘Apply’ and authenticate with your O.T.R. (One Time Registration) number.
   • If you have completed O.T.R. registration, tick ‘Yes’ and proceed to authenticate.
   • If you have not completed O.T.R. registration, tick ‘No’ and obtain the O.T.R. number from the commission’s website https://otr.pariksha.nic.in 72 hours before submitting the online application.
   • After authentication, your personal details will be displayed automatically. You will need to fill in the essential qualifications required for the post.
2. Second Stage:
   • Click on ‘Submit Details’ under ‘Application Part-2’.
   • Your permanent and correspondence address will be displayed from O.T.R.
   • You will have to choose ‘Yes/No’ for the preferential qualifications.
3. Third Stage:
   • Proceed for fee payment. You can pay the fee via Net Banking, Card Payments, or other payment modes.
   • Take a printout of the ‘Payment Transaction Slip’.
4. Fourth Stage:
   • After fee payment, your application form will be displayed.
   • Take a print of the online application and keep it safe for future reference.
