Qualification:
A Master’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade.
An equivalent degree from a recognised foreign educational institute in a subject related to the Ph.D discipline applied for.
A relaxation of 5% in marks is applicable to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD (having more than 40% disability), EWS and other such categories as specified by the Government of Assam.
PG 4th Semester students are also permitted to apply, subject to fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
Grace marks or points awarded in the qualifying examination will not be counted.
Exemption from Entrance Test: Candidates qualified for fellowship/scholarship in UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/GATE, ICMR, DBT examinations, and similar national-level examinations, or those who qualify NET in Category 2 or Category 3 in the NET examination of June 2024 or later, will be exempted from the Entrance Test and can appear directly for the Personal Interview/Viva-voce.
