Eligibility & Qualification
The minimum qualification for the post of Assistant Professor is as follows:
- A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.
- Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR.
- Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with UGC Regulations are exempted from the requirement of NET. Specific conditions apply for this exemption.
- A 5% relaxation in marks is permissible for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD).
Pay Level / Salary Details
Selected candidates will be appointed as Assistant Professor in the Academic Pay Level-10 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix. The entry pay for this level is ₹57,700, with the scale extending up to ₹1,82,400. In addition to the basic pay, appointees will be entitled to other allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA) as per University of Delhi/Government of India norms.
